The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have embarked on an old-time royal train tour to get out in front of the public from a safe distance and to bolster and support all of the people who have helped Great Britain survive 2020. That’s all lovely, but we’re here to ogle some royal coats.
To kick things off, Mrs. Cathy opted for getting all Christmassy in McQueen:

A green coat with a red tartan scarf is pretty much a no-brainer for a Duchess making a December tour of Great Britain, we’d say. The Duchess is nothing if not completely aware of what the public expects to see from her. It’s a fabulous shade of green and we love the drama of the length, which feels more stately and mature than the cute little coat-dresses she’s favored in the past.
First stop on the tour, Kate switched things up for a little Cambridge Blue action:

It’s her signature color and in most ways, her signature look. It’s not the most exciting choice, but it’s savvy in the sense that she’s showing up looking how the public expects her to. Excellent mask coordination.
