You can tell this lockdown’s been going on too long when even Beyoncé is posing for the ‘gram. It’s nearly impossible to get her to walk some of the biggest red carpets of the year, but a couple days ago Queen Bey apparently felt she’d been cooped up enough and unexpectedly served her 150 million followers a little sparkle and fashion. We thank her for these blessings.
Slay, Queen.
If we were looking at a red carpet sitch, we might opine that the jewelry’s a bit much for the look, but instagram-posing is its own venue with its own set of expectations. A red carpet is akin to a runway and red carpet commentary like ours tends to focus on the appropriateness of the fashion and styling choices. But instagram is more akin to a stage – for everyone, but even more so for the celebrity bunch. Think of it this way: Red carpet = runway, Instagram = drag show. As such, Miss B’s glamour drag looks pretty great to us.
Love the shoes, but the “pop of color shoe” died out a while back. We wouldn’t mind seeing it return as a trend.
