Well now, this certainly looks intriguing.

It’s always a good sign when you come away from a trailer intrigued by the look and feel of a film, but completely clueless as to what the story’s really about. Not sure why everyone in Ohio seems to have such thick southern accents, but that is one hell of a cast.

It kind of amazes us that people still think Robert Pattinson can’t act. This will be a true test of Tom Holland’s skills, though. He can’t rely on Peter Parker charm for this one and it’ll be interesting to see him attempt something this dark and seemingly nuanced. We’ve been avoiding a lot of dark entertainment this year for obvious reasons, but this looks too good to pass up.

Synopsis: In Knockemstiff, Ohio and its neighboring backwoods, sinister characters — an unholy preacher (Robert Pattinson), twisted couple (Jason Clarke and Riley Keough), and crooked sheriff (Sebastian Stan) — converge around young Arvin Russell (Tom Holland) as he fights the evil forces that threaten him and his family. Spanning the time between World War II and the Vietnam war, director Antonio Campos’ THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME renders a seductive and horrific landscape that pits the just against the corrupted. Co-starring Bill Skarsgård, Mia Wasikowska, Harry Melling, Haley Bennett and Pokey LaFarge, this suspenseful, finely-woven tale is adapted from Donald Ray Pollock’s award-winning novel.
