After months of covering her Valentine’s candy-themed Katy Keene costumes, this ensemble feels like someone told Katy to grow up and get a good job in an office somewhere.
Granted, it would be an office wear shorts with smocked waistbands are considered office attire, but you know what we mean. This is a little sharp and a little dull at the same time. The jacket, bag and shoes are all great. The matching blouse and aforementioned horrorshorts are things we wish we hadn’t seen. It feels like the parts we like are the types of pieces that need really modern touches and while the blouse and shorts are certainly unexpected, they don’t actually elevate the rest of the look. They drag everything down.
On second thought, are those shoes great? We’re looking at that incongruous ankle strap and trying to reconcile it with a loafer front and what looks like a slingback or d’orsay heel. It’s like three shoes in one and now we can’t stop staring at them.
