Can we just say? Thank God for Miss Cynthia. So far, as we survey the awards season style landscape, it occurs to us how deadly dull it’s been. Everyone’s so damn serious all the time. So tasteful and nonthreatening. Well, Cynthia is here to hell-no all that:
Say what you will, you can’t call it boring or forgettable. The coat is spectacular, but we really hate that black orchid or iris thing. How do you design something like that and not see that it looks like she has a giant beetle on her shoulder? And while we’re at it, we may as well admit that we don’t think the clashing buttons work at all. But we love the huge Peter Pan collar and the fabulously asymmetrical frames. The African continent pendant is the perfect grace note.
