Miss Caitriona used up all our “being nice to black-backed retro floral gowns” points for the day, which means we’re leaving the final judgment of this one up to you.
Like her bestie Nicole Kidman, Miss Naomi is an icy blonde who happens to look pretty great in embellished blacks, but we’re not sure this one is really doing the trick for her. The embroidery is pretty enough, but we don’t love the “falling flower” effect, which makes the pattern feel unbalanced and bottom-heavy at a glance. We also don’t love the high collar or the puffy sleeves. We don’t hate the latter on their own, but in combination with the rest of the elements, the sleeve design leaves us a little flat.
We don’t know. It’s all pretty enough. It’s just that, for what it’s serving, the impact feels kind of low, no? We’re asking.
