That’s just cute as shit. From the shades to the studded footwear, every piece is loaded with personality and visual interest. Granted, we think you have to be … all the things Lil Nas X is to make this work. Okay, we’ll say it: being skinny, black and queer has a lot to do with why this all looks so great on him, although that’s not a checklist of requirements for anyone who might want to dress in the same style. But he can wear any color in the rainbow, he has an established preference for eye-popping and unexpected style choices, and a tight snakeskin print turtleneck tucked into some low-slung bell-bottoms is a series of choices that tend to work well on a limited range of body types. We’re just saying. Lil Nas X’s (we never know how to address him informally: Lil? Lil Nas? X?) style has always been an admirably well-executed expression of his identity and clear style preferences. He knows who he is. This is fashion as autobiography.
