Miss Gugu can make anything look good just by wearing it. But even we have doubts she can pull off this color.

The gown is fairly basic, which isn’t necessarily a mark against it since she does really well with very classic styles like this. We’re not super-crazy about the way the neckline, sleeves, and back ruffle are all one piece. From the front,it looks like it’s sliding off her, and the back just looks like a scrunchy. And we have to say, we are about to hit the wall on all of these shiny satin fabrics on the red carpet. They tend to photograph terribly. But really, it’s the color that bugs the most. We recognize that yellow is a very hot color right now especially on red carpets (we’ve been seeing it a lot this month), in almost every instance, we’ve noted how tough a color it really is – on almost all coloring.

But perhaps we’re being too rigid about this. You tell us:
