So here’s Miss Rachel, as promised. And like we said in the previous post, we never realized before how much she’s been swimming in the Blanchett waters in terms of her promo style.
Not that we get the sense that she’s ripping her off or even using her as an influence; just that she’s working that same sort of soignee/photogenic high-fashion approach. It’s not that this is an homage or a ripoff of a Cate look, but we can definitely see Cate wearing something exactly like this, right down to the shoes. But we think Cate would opt for much more interesting jewelry and more declarative makeup with a look like this. That’s kind of our issue here. The dress and shoes are nice, but they need styling help for red carpet work. We don’t think the subtle jewelry, clean makeup and simple hair are the right choices here, but Miss Rachel does like to keep things clean and low-key. You tell us: is this working or does our girl here need some help bumping things up? In other words…
