You’ll have to pardon us for sounding like bored fashion bloggers, but …
Meh.
Sure, we’ve got an enormous silk skirt and a crystal-beaded top – 43,200 of them, to be exact! Sure, it’s bold and bright and hard to ignore. Sure, she’s serving body-ody-ody (as much as one can in a giant skirt). She’s got the high pony and the Harry Winston earrings. It’s all perfect J Lo drag in its own way.
But isn’t it just a weensy bit … we don’t know… tired?
This has nothing to do with her age, mind you. She should keep working the high-sexy, high-glam, high-diva drag that characterizes her public style – if she wants to, of course. But everything about this look feels so perfunctory at this point; like she’s just checking style elements off a list. We think she can still werq the kind of head-turning drag that helped make her a legend, but we also tend to think her brand needs a little freshening.
In other news, the bottom of that top looks awful and we canNOT with the drawstring. This is one of the biggest fashion nights on the calendar. Get it together.
