For the record, we still hate peach, still question capes with gowns, and still think satin gowns always have a hint of bedtime about them. And we would, also for the record, never recommend that someone with Elle’s coloring go this route. It doesn’t matter. None of it. Because girlfriend looks stunning. This may even be the pinnacle of her red carpet “career.” She clearly wants to bump her maturity game for Cannes, most likely because she’s sitting on the jury and wants to be seen a certain way. We didn’t love yesterday’s turn toward the dowdy, but this sort of old-school elegance and glamour is utterly perfect for her. WERQ your Femme Fatale realness, Miss Thing.
