When an awards-track lady has to hit the awards-track red carpets at the same time as she has to hit the worldwide premiere red carpets of the very film that landed her on the awards track in the first place, that lady may find that her style efforts are going to wind up all over the map if she’s not careful and doesn’t have a tight and rock-solid style plan in place. Which isn’t to say that this is a terrible effort on Miss Saoirse’s part, but given the film and the location in which this premiere is being held …
Is it wrong to expect a little more than this? Girl, you’re in Edinburgh asking people to believe you’re embodying a legendary figure in Scottish history. Your dress says “I’m saving the better stuff for the BAFTAS, SAG Awards and the Oscars, guys. Sorry.”
We don’t hate it – except for the goofy design of the bust. We realize there’s not a lot of love for the pinkeye trend in makeup round these parts and there are plenty of times where we’d agree, but we like how all of her styling, from her earrings to her makeup to her nail color, are in different shades of pink to help give a relatively bland dress more of a unified ensemble feel.
But girl, you should’ve busted out the ballroom skirts and brocade for this one. “Young Jodie Foster” is actually a really good look for you, but this wasn’t the time.
