Given “A Star is Born’s total shutout at the SAG Awards, Miss Steffi’s Oscar chances look less and less likely going forward. She can console herself with her piles of money, critical acclaim, adoring fans, and any free couture she can snag.
Attagirl.
There are elements here – the fringed edges, shorts, and plunging neckline – that we’d probably edit out if we had the opportunity or the magical powers to do so. Even so, this is dramatic, polished and chic. Maybe not one of her boldest or most outrageous red carpet efforts, but very much in the diva/serious actress mode. Love the slight heaviness of the jewelry, which gives the look just a hint of an edge. Once again, her predilection for cheap, brassy street-dye jobs is letting her down when it comes to working high fashion. There are a lot of ways to do a hi-lo look, but a shit dye job with haute couture just doesn’t work.
