Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda at the “Mary Poppins Returns” Paris Screening

Kittens, there was a brief moment last night when your ol’ pals T & Lo had a fashion panic attack as we took in all the premieres and royal appearances and awards shows that came flying over the transom, so to speak. “THIS IS ENTIRELY TOO MUCH FASHION!” we might have cried out. “HOW WILL WE EVER COPE WITH IT ALL?”

Once we dried our eyes and calmed down, we realized with an almost eerie zen calm that all we need to is continue to state our opinions on everything that passes in front of our eyes. Eventually, we’ll get to it all. And fortunately for us, there are people like Lin-Manuel Miranda, who don’t actually give us much to talk about.

Oooh, the LMM stans are gonna have our heads before this month is out. Look, we don’t expect the man to dress to Emily Blunt’s level, but he has a tendency to show up to these things looking like he hopped out of a moving car that’s gonna circle the block and pick him up in a few. Having said that, his suit, coat and tie are all very nice. So is the coat, but he really shouldn’t be wearing it buttoned-up and with his hands shoved in his pockets. It pretty much obscures everything he’s wearing and we’re left with the image of a guy in a coat with a focus-pulling pair of shoes. A shame, because the colors of the suit and tie look pretty great.

As for Miss Poppins herself:

She slays. THIS is the kind of look we’ve been hoping to see from her throughout this promo tour. Dramatic and whimsical and colorful and HIGH FREAKING FASHION AF. Our only quibble is … can you guess it, kittens? Because we feel like it’s our most-common quibble of all: the plan sandals. It seems to us a dress that comes with a cape AND a big-ass belt calls for something a little more substantial in the footwear choice. It just looks so unbalanced from a visual perspective. There’s SO MUCH DRESS happening. Offer up a little more shoe to balance it out. We’d even go so far as to suggest boots, if she really wanted to go kickass with this look.
