In which Messrs. T & Lo pull back on the reins a little because M. Ezra clearly won’t.
Ezra sweetie, we’re right there with you. Cheering you on as you quite queerly fuck with the paradigm and fly your freak flag. When you stepped out in the puffy Moncler chess piece gown, our huzzahs could be heard to the heavens.
One mustn’t confuse high red carpet fashion with Comic-Con cosplay, dear. And we say this as queens with an enormous respect for the artistry and fabulousness of nerd-based cosplay. The ensemble is chic and stunning. The hair and makeup work beautifully in service to it. Waving your hands around to show off the tragically smudged Avada Kedavra spell Sharpie’d onto your palms and showing off the “Dumbledore’s Army, Still Recruiting” message written on your shoes is … well. Let’s just say you’re stepping rather quickly away from fabulous with each of these choices. Nothing wrong with getting your nerd on and even using fashion to do it, but we’ve always been wary of stars cosplaying or dressing in character on the red carpet. Love the lewk, but keep the character-based role-playing for the set. Harrumph.
We expect vigorous disagreement and will be donning our HAZMAT suits forthwith.
