This is the moment every lady star hopes and prays for in their career:

Stepping out on a red carpet in couture, looking like you’re about to squat and pee. It’s the Hollywood dream, darlings.  Grace Kelly revisited. Remember all those times she squatted and peed in front of photographers? They just don’t make glamour like that anymore. She was our American Princess. Sigh.

Did she actually have that pseudo-slip added to the hem? Not that the runway version is superior somehow – because even the runway model looks like she’s setting to squat n’ pee soon – but we fail to see how that little modesty panel improves things.

And the really annoying part is, if they’d just put a plain old hem on this dress it would look pretty gorgeous. No, it wouldn’t push any envelopes or anything, but maybe this isn’t the style of dress for envelope-pushing, y’know? Let a pretty dress just be a pretty dress instead of futzing around with it for no good reason.

Oh dear. We’ve started the day off harummphing and finger-wagging. This might not be a good sign, kittens.
