PinMondaine de Pariso Bar and Restaurant – Paris, France

Bonjour, petit chats! It is THURSDAY, which we consider cause for celebration if not procrastination. Let’s get down to the business of avoiding all business today, shall we? First order of not-business: ordering nibbles and sips. Sit. Let’s discuss the options.

Jessica Lange to Receive Munich Film Festival Honor
The two-time Oscar winner will get Munich’s CineMerit Award at the 2024 festival this summer.

Two-time Oscar-winning actress Jessica Lange will receive this year’s CineMerit Award at the Munich International Film Festival, honoring her “remarkable contributions to the world of cinema.”
In addition to her two Academy Awards — for best supporting actress in Tootsie in 1983 and best actress in Blue Sky in 1995 — Lange can point to a total of six Oscar nominations, three Emmy wins (from 10 nods), five Golden Globes (from 16 noms) and one Tony award.

As Che And Nya Depart, Rosie O’Donnell Is Joining And Just Like That For Season 3
A network spokesperson added: “It has been a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning professor Nya Wallace. As we have thoroughly enjoyed working with this dynamic actress, so too have others. Due to her commitments to two other streamer series, it has become apparent that filming three shows at once isn’t possible. Due to the production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of season three. Karen and Nya will be missed, and her Max family and fans will all be cheering her on in her other endeavours.”
As the pair departs, there will, however, be another familiar face coming on board: on 1 May, comedian Rosie O’Donnell confirmed that she’d be joining the ensemble for the next instalment, sharing a photo of her episode one script on Instagram. The image revealed the title of the season three opener (“Outlook Good”), and that the actor would be playing a character called Mary.

Paolo Roversi looks back at his 50 years as a fashion photographer as he marks his first ever large scale exhibition in Paris
Ethereal young girls with messy chignons; strong, deep eyes… Paolo Roversi’s women are undeniable. His images defy time, possessing the quality and aura of the early daguerreotypes and autochromes of the late 19th century while showcasing the greatest top models and the most cutting-edge fashion of the time. In his images, currently on display in a groundbreaking exhibition at the Palais Galliera, we see name after evocative name, face after iconic face: Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Galliano, Alaïa… Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Guinevere Van Seenus, Inès de la Fressange, Natalia Vodianova… All of them have passed through the mythical Studio Luce, in the 14th arrondissement in Paris. This unassuming building in a quiet cobblestone street, is where we meet him to about his youth, his work, and how Marie Claire changed his life.

Calabasas: Kim Kardashian has landed a Netflix series all about the Californian town that her family made famous
Based on a book about the town, If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now. Emma Roberts will co-produce.

Kim Kardashian has continued her foray into the world of film and TV, having closed a deal with Netflix to make a series called Calabasas, named after the SoCal town her family have made famous with their various reality TV shows and luscious mansions.
The TV show will take place in the Kardashian-loved town, and will be based on If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now by Via Bleidner, which follows the story of 16-year-old Catholic girl Via, who moves with her family from the Midwest to Calabasas, California and sees her life change before her very eyes.

Trust me, this under-the-radar but very simple hack will improve the natural appearance of your nails tenfold
It’s all in the buffing

I was taught tons of things in nail school, some helpful and others, well, no-so-helpful. But there’s one trick that always impresses people when they try it at home, and it just so happens to be the easiest to do—and doesn’t require a drop of nail polish. That trick is nail buffing using files of various grits to get an impressive shine.
Because it doesn’t require polish, it’s great if you don’t like wearing any, don’t for religious or cultural reasons or are taking a break from nail enhancements.

42 best Black-owned beauty brands to support all year round
From Fenty Beauty & Pat McGrath Labs to supporting Black beauty entrepreneurs.

Let’s face it: Black-owned beauty brands should be celebrated and uplifted every damn day of the year.
Without the Black community, the beauty industry would not exist as we know it today. Many of beauty’s most-booked treatments and biggest trends (hair extensions, nail art and acrylic nails, to name only a few) are steeped in black culture and have been a staple of Black beauty for decades. So why do Black people have less access to capital to fund their businesses?.

Darren Criss Self-Identifies as “Culturally Queer”
While appearing at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, the (straight) Glee star highlighted his love of queer culture: “These are people that I idolize, that I want to learn something from.”

Cool or not, Criss has often played queer characters. After breaking through as teenage dream Blaine, he took over the titular role in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inch. He later won an Emmy for playing gay spree killer Andrew Cunanan in another Ryan Murphy series, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. In fact, he’s played so many queer characters that in 2018, he vowed to stop taking queer roles from actors. “I want to make sure I won’t be another straight boy taking a gay man’s role,” said Criss at the time. He’s seemed to stick to that promise, having most recently appeared as the nerdy and straight Seymour in an off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors, which also costarred Evan Rachel Wood.

The Sweetest Pictures Of The Cambridge Children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte And Prince Louis
Including Princess Charlotte in an adorable cardigan and floral shirt.

Ever since July 22 2013, an abundance of cuteness has occurred in the royal family.
The Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed their first child Prince George on that date, cueing plenty of cooing whenever the young royal – and subsequently, his younger sister Princess Charlotte (who arrived in 2015) and then brother Prince Louis (born in 2018) – appeared in public at royal events.

The Best Comedies on Netflix for When You Need a Good Laugh
Comedy is defined by its limits: no matter how broad a joke might be, it’ll never land for everyone. Likewise, choosing the best comedies on Netflix presented a challenge: for every Knocked Up fan, someone else will ask, “Where’s You’ve Got Mail?” And that’s the way it should be. After all, I had some of the same questions for Netflix: where are the 1930s screwball comedies? Not a single Mel Brooks film? Why so much Rob Schneider? And then I realized I was talking to my computer, and I felt very silly. So I went back to the task at hand, making this list as thorough and appealing as possible. Which is all to say: This Vogue list of the best comedies on Netflix will not be for everyone—much like a joke itself. But no matter who you are or where your tastes lie, if you’re looking for a laugh, there’s bound to be something here just for you.

We should all be more like Cher.

Cher has made headlines over the past few years, not just for her talent, amazing fashion sense or hilarious comebacks online, but also for her penchant for dating men much younger than herself. According to the “Believe” singer, dating younger guys is an intentional choice, as they tend to be more courageous in their romantic approach.

Here’s the First Trailer for Kate Winslet’s Sweeping New Drama About Vogue Model and War Correspondent Lee Miller
In June 2020, after years of speculation, it was confirmed that Kate Winslet would take on the role of Lee Miller, British Vogue’s prolific World War II correspondent under the magazine’s formidable editor-in-chief Audrey Withers, in a new film directed by Oscar-nominated auteur Ellen Kuras. (Kuras previously worked with Winslet on Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, for which she served as cinematographer.) Now, the first trailer has finally been released, revealing our first look at Winslet in character as Miller, indefatigable in the face of unimaginable horror.

Met Gala Dressing Done Right: 187 Looks on 20 Models from the ’90s to Now
Fashion’s favorite spectator sport is the Met Gala. The guests are the “players” whose “stats” are times attended and what they wore. I want to believe that having this information organized and readily at hand is not just an archivist’s dream, but something that will appeal to all fashion fans. Here you’ll find Christy Turlington’s first known Met attendance, in 1992, looking like a latter day Holly Golightly in a black Versace column with pearls around her neck; Linda Evangelista in Prada, naturally, at the 2012 “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” gala; and Naomi Campbell on the 2017 red carpet in the Azzedine Alaïa dress she wore down the designer’s runway.

The Craziest Celebrity Moments in Met Gala History
Throughout the years, the Met Gala has been the site of some unforgettable celebrity moments—from Lady Gaga’s elaborate striptease to Rihanna’s riveting performance on top of a dinner table. And who could forget when Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston were first caught dancing flirtatiously with each other, kindling the Hiddleswift phenomenon that feels ancient now that we’re firmly in the Age of Travis? Take a walk down memory lane with this list of the craziest celebrity moments at the Met.

What Exactly Goes Into the Met Gala Seating Chart?
“We start with a seating document when the names come together in December,” Kiernan says. “The actual seating chart doesn’t come together until about a month before the event, when we get a sense for the layout of the room, and the flow of the evening.” At the Vogue office, Kiernan and her team spend the month of April constantly going over the specifics of the seating.
Her objective? For guests to have fun—and perhaps to make fruitful, or even unexpected, connections in the process. “We really try to think very carefully about who’s sitting next to each other,” Kiernan says. “Our ideal pairing would maybe be two people who we think will just get on like a house on fire, but who may not even realize that they have a lot in common. So with each person, we really do take time to think, ‘What will they talk about?’”

How British True Crime Producers Are Quietly Revolutionizing Duty Of Care Amid Explosion In Genre’s Popularity
“For a long time, true crime was seen as a guilty pleasure – a niche, specialist area of production and the preserve of a small number of incredibly talented and skilled producers,” she explains. “Then Netflix came in, spent lots of money and turned it into a premium watercooler genre and there has been this explosion of producers getting involved. The fact there are so many producers doing this who might only have entertainment chops, well, having this association to give those guidelines and provide someone to pick up the phone is to be applauded.”

Why we can’t stop talking about age gaps
From The Idea of You to viral essays, the discourse is rarely about the people inside the relationships.

“Haven’t you ever heard that the girl is supposed to be half the man’s age, plus seven?” asks Patty O’Neill in the 1951 play turned 1953 film The Moon Is Blue. Patty, 22, is wooing a 30-year-old man at the time, and she is delighted to find that the math “just works out.”
Today, the rule “half your age plus seven years” is popularly held to tell you the youngest possible person you can date without being creepy. A 30-year-old, the idea is, can just about get away with dating a 22-year-old of any gender, but get down to 21 and things start to feel weird.
Historically, however, the equation was supposed to dictate the ideal age gap between a man and a woman. It seems to have been fairly common around the midcentury.

Philosophers are studying Reddit’s “Am I the Asshole?”
In which philosophy tries to understand how normal people think about morality.

Philosophers, bless them, are trying to understand how normal people think about morality.
Normal people, as you may have heard, hang out on the internet. And what is the internet’s biggest trove of everyday moral dilemmas? Why, it’s Reddit’s “Am I the Asshole?” forum!
So, why not comb through millions of comments there to find out how people make moral decisions?
This might sound like a joke, but it’s actually been the past four years of Daniel Yudkin’s life. As he was doing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, Yudkin thought about how moral psychology and moral philosophy — his fields of research — mostly focus on hypothetical, contextless scenarios involving strangers.

Giuliana Rancic Opens Up in Rare Interview About Her New Life 3 Years After Leaving E! for HSN
In a wide-ranging interview, the TV personality opens up about forging a new path following 20 years at E!

Red carpets, superstars and gowns may not be at the center of Giuliana Rancic’s universe anymore, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t still a huge fan.
“I still love it. I love watching red carpet,” says the former E! News co-anchor and Red Carpet Live co-host who famously worked alongside Ryan Seacrest covering awards season for the network. “I mean, I did it for 20 years and there was never a dull moment.”

Mariska Hargitay on Making a TV Icon, Dick Wolf’s ‘Tough Love,’ Fighting for Kelli Giddish and 20 Years of Helping Survivors of Sexual Violence
When a little girl can’t find her mother in a pocket park in New York City, she inexplicably runs crying straight into the arms of Mariska Hargitay. Though Hargitay’s in the middle of shooting a scene from “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” she doesn’t hesitate. She scoops up the child and begins circling the playground looking for the missing mom.
She doesn’t stop to think about the cast and crew, all of whom are waiting at the other end of the park, hoping to finish the scene before the sunlight reappears from behind the clouds.
Hargitay isn’t NYPD Capt. Olivia Benson, but after portraying her for 25 years on the NBC procedural, their names, and some of their qualities, are synonymous.
