NAILED IT:
And we don’t just mean the dress. That was one KILLER speech. In fact, it may rank as one of the best political speeches we’ve ever heard. She had that hall in the palm of her hand the entire time. She’s become a more refined and forceful speaker than her husband, in a lot of ways.
The dress is good – and we’re thrilled for Christian Siriano to have yet another career-high moment. The color looks amazing on her and we tend to think it was a very good idea to keep everything as simple as possible. There is one glaring issue, however. If she was merely standing and posing, we’d be okay with the yoke and sleeves, but since she’s gesticulating and waving to a crowd, they both seem to be working against her slightly. She needed a little more range of movement than this dress could give her.
Still, the simplicity of the dress was a perfect accompaniment to the kind of bold, simple declarative speech she gave. She came across confident, warm and powerful. Mission accomplished.
