Olivia Wilde in NYC

Posted on March 24, 2014

Oh, Olivia. SUCH a missed opportunity here. If you’d asked us…

Olivia-Wilde-GOTS-NYC-MGWS-Tom-Lorenzo-Site-TLO (1)Olivia Wilde spotted having lunch with a friend in New York City.

We’d have told you to put a little mustache on the dog.

If there’s one thing we hate (And guess what? There isn’t!), it’s cutesy sweaters, but we totally want this cutesy sweater in our life right now. A cute dog would be fun too, although our cats would pee on our pillows in protest or something. And since we like pee-free pillows (we’re funny that way), those bitches get what they want.

Honestly, it’s like a hostage situation around here sometimes.

Okay, we’ve gone a little astray here, but our point is: cutesy sweaters are sometimes just plain cute, and cute doggies make the perfect street style accessory.

The dog is adorable. So is the sweater, but it’s pilled and dirty. Almost as dirty as her hair.

      • TheDivineMissAnn

The dog IS adorable! And I noticed she has poop bags with her – which I love, ’cause who wants a shoe full of dog doodoo? I give her extra points for that.

As for dirty hair, women that pregnant get a pass from me. Some days are better than others.

      • knufflebunny

Stars, they’re just like us: They throw on whatever and take the dog out before their shower.

      • Rhonda Shore

oh come on, how could a white sweater not be dirty? And she’s (very) pregnant, so she’s excused. And that dog is SOOO cute!!!

      • marlie

Meh, I think she looks fine. I’m sure she expects to be papped, but this is pretty much what anyone would wear to run out and walk the dog (sweater & jeans) on a lazy weekend day.

    • berkeleygirl

I think this is one case where the baby belly makes the sweater more interesting.

      • MilaXX

Agreed. I don’t think that sweater would look as cute on a non-pregnant person since the glasses would fit right over the boobs in a weird way.

      • Jacob Bowen

Agreed. Especially since the mustache placement is perfect.

    • Amelia Via

Is she seriously wearing a belt? That is some hardcore preggo fashion commitment.

      • lexilexi

        or maybe it’s her bellybutton that’s protruding….

        • Gatto Nero

There’s a brown leather belt slung low under her belly.

        • Felicia Zuniga

No, you can see her belt below her stomach in several shots. It is her bellybutton you see through her sweater, but she’s wearing a belt beneath her belly.

      • filmcricket

A friend of mine wore a weightlifting belt through much of her pregnancy – it helped protect her back. Don’t think that’s what this is, though.

      • PastryGoddess

It may be because she’s between sizes. Go up a size and you’ve got a saggy ass. Try to button your current jeans…nope not hapenning

    • MilaXX

She appears to be one of those pregnant women who only gains a belly. The belt doesn’t look comfortable, but she looks cute. The dog is just added cuteness.

      • Jecca2244

I will not be one of those ladies and I am so envious of those that don’t gain a pound elsewhere. I might be more comfortable on planes because I am shorter but get screwed in the pregs department.

    • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

      Very cute dog.

      • Wendi126

I’ve wanted a very cute dog for years but my four cats would freak out and one already has OCD. I showed T and Lo a pic of them at the Philly signing cause I’m a cat nerd that way

        • http://foodycat.blogspot.co.uk/ Alicia

We know our cat wouldn’t tolerate another cat, but we’re hoping she’ll accept a dog, because she spends quite a lot of time chatting to our neighbour’s dog under the fence.

    • another_laura

Adorable dog. Lose the sweater. And BTW, how do all these ladystars manage to not get bloated and all whilst preggo?

      • Glam Dixie

It’s all part of being super skinny, I think and probably diet. I used to be really thin and I never gained an ounce of pregnancy weight anywhere except the belly and never got bloated, no swelling in the ankles or feet. And one thing lady stars are for the most part is very thin.

      • TropiCarla

It’s genetics — I ate like a horse and only gained about 16 lbs – all belly – and was prancing around until they induced me at 41 weeks. I credit my mother.
        Meanwhile … Mariah Carey.

    • KinoEye

DAWG. All pictures are automatically improved by the presence of adorable dogs.

      • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

and look at the itty-bitty spots on his itty-bitty ear…SQUEEEEE!

    • SierraDelta

She has a HOLE in her sweater. No. No. No.

      • Wendi126

I’m going to believe she pulled it on the way to walk the dog and said, fuck it, I’m not going to change..I don’t really care cause everyone often wants to be me or do me so eff em.
There’s a hole in your sweater, dear livie, dear livie..
There’s a hole in your sweater, dear livie dear liv!

      • jw_ny

oh..it looks comfy and fine for walking the dog, and besides, why stretch out one of her good sweaters?

    • alyce1213

Aw, she looks cute walking her doggie.
I like to play Name the Location. Today’s easy — she’s in front of Burberry Prorsum on Spring St. (Johnny and Amber were not far away, on the Bowery.)

    • Glam Dixie

It’s also a cutesy sweater that gets worn by teenaged girls in these parts so to me it seems a little twee for her. The dog, omgcutegimme!

      • kimmeister

Do they even sell mustachioed items outside of the juniors section?

        • Glam Dixie

          Not that I’ve seen.

    • BlairBear

I love this whole outfit. It is real world cute but just fancy enough to incite envy. well played Ms Wilde

    • ballerinawithagun

Hate that sweater. Is she announcing the sex of her baby via the moustache sweater?

    • fungstyle

I appreciate that her hair has obviously not been washed.

    • Mothra

That dog could totally rock the glasses, too. Really was a missed opportunity.

    • Danielle

A cutesy sweater that doesn’t look like it’s been through the shredder! TSwift, take note, please.

      • enchanted216

Sorry I must point out a hole in the sweater.

    • demidaemon

CUTE. Totally understand the hostage situation thing with the animals. I have a dog who is like that right now.

    • Fuchaforever

NO. So sick of the mustache and ironic eyeglass frames. Ugh, the trend that won’t go away. It’s like the birds! Nobody over the age of 14 should be seen in a stache sweater in public. Plus the sweater looks pretty worn out. Perfect for cuddling with a book and a cup of tea at home but not for NYC streets! So disappointed in you Olivia. #notadorkable

    • makeityourself

      Ditto on the hostage situation.

      • Imasewsure

At least we know who are leaders are… My male cat made friends immediately with our new doggie… my female cat refused to enter the house for a month; refused to come upstairs where IT slept for six months but now she almost likes the dog… almost… she’s still a cat (with standards) of course

    • Stefanie Argudo Mackenzie

She’s hatching another human. Leave her alone, period.

    • Hysterectomypants

I get being over the moustache/glasses thing, but man, she looks adorable. Comfy sweater, sweet dog, baby on the way, gorgeous everything–I want to hate her so bad, but I mysteriously cannot.

    • http://armchairauthor.wordpress.com/ LesYeuxHiboux

She’s not used to working with curves, but girl is so pregnant right now I will keep my mouth shut about her boob glasses. Love the dog.

    • Pennymac

I’m a hostage to owning somewhat ragged living room furniture. I’ve never been able to break my little ball of feline fluff of sharpening her claws on it. I’m a lifetime cat owner, too, and have never had this problem. Mostly because she’s slightly psychotic and also has learned to do it in the middle of the night so I can’t catch her at it. I’ve never even seen her do it. The arms of the sofa just keep getting more and more distressed.

      Anyway, cute sweater, adorable dog!

    • Imasewsure

This sweater and this dog should be enough to make me love her (but alas… she’s still on my IH list). Damn that is a cute doggie though… and this is what…month 15 in her pregnancy?????

    • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

that doggie looks like he already has a mustache. and he is a-DOOR-able!

    • Kent Roby

She has an adorable dog; I shall henceforth love her unconditionally.

    • Jecca2244

is it mean if I make a comment about her hair? I know ladies who are preggers have trouble reaching their feet but…and she could have someone wash her hair for her.

      • camsteerie

Somehow I missed the “..and”. Thankfully I saw it before embarrassing myself by asking how you knew she had hair on her feet.

Do you think this is how senility starts?

        • Jecca2244

LOL it isn’t you..it is me. I am actually working on a cover letter so let’s hope that looks better than my posts! : )

    • Krysta

      Cute boots, too.

    • MM4321

I cannot hate on a very-pregnant woman! A big thumbs up for just putting in a little effort. To the person who said her hair looks unwashed . . . it may be, but I also have thin, stringy hair. No matter how much I wash or style it, if I step out on a windy day, it looks like hers within minutes. Sad. :-(

    • crash1212

I want the sweater. She can keep the dog. Cute boots, too!

    • FridaStaire

Just look at her clenched jaw though. Is it a new form of Pilates or something?

    • Skippymom1

Definitely getting a pass all the way around – so she needs to wash her hair and there is a tiny hole in her sweater. Every mom to be should look so good pregnant while picking up poop with paparazzi following them. I think she looks comfy, put together – with a belt no less – who does that pregnant? The sweater works with the dog. :)

    • decormaven

She looks to be in a natural state- ungroomed, light to no makeup, acceptable casual clothes. I will give her props for correctly handling her pup. Now he’s a cutie!

    • lynnlee

I don’t know. My 12 year old wears sweaters like that. Seems silly on a grown-up.

    • MartyBellerMask

So… who is the “friend” she is having lunch with? The baby? Or the dog?

    • Goldie

Try a Toy Poodle. People think they’re yappy little dogs but I’ve never had one that was. They’re very smart and don’t shed. I had one that was raised from a puppy with a cat. He adopted cat-like behavior such as licking his paws to wash his face. Your cats may not mind one so much then. :)

    • ScarlettHarlot

She’s always been strikingly beautiful, but I think pregnancy favors her. She just looks so content and approachable. I love the entire look. That dog is too cute, and good for her for having the poop bags.

    • jay

I appreciate that with the cross-body bag, it looks like her sweater is saying “NO mustache and hipster glasses”

Uncles, if you ever can’t resist the urge, I’d suggest adopting an old small dog. The smaller breeds are often very catlike, and also when they get older and give zero fucks, they’re less likely to chase the cats, etc. I have an adopted 10-year-old Chihuahua/Jack Russell (see profile picture) and she is a Lazy McLazerson and super cute.

    • CeeQ

Me to my cat, Phoenix (RIP sweetie…*sniff*): “PHOENIX. PLEASE. Stop with the rolling all over my shoes! Look at this white fur all over my suede boots! This cost me an entire paycheck!”

Phoenix: “Deal with it. Also, it’s time for my snack. Hop to it.” – with that ever so patient yet slightly irritated gaze that he mastered from kitten-hood.

      I miss that bitch.

Oh right, Olivia. Yeah, I am not a fan of cutesy sweaters but she does look pretty sweet in this one =)
