Posted on February 14, 2014

Kittens, it’s Friday, so here’s B Cum, charming the panties off everyone he meets, as he’s wont to do.

Lovely. It takes a special man to sit down facing an audience in a vest. It also takes a perfectly fitted vest.

What a perfectly wonderful way to start the day.

  • Rand Ortega

    Nice. Well played, Bandersnatch.

  • My heart (or is it my loins?) They are all aflutter.

  • flamingoNW

I like his hair longer, but he looks great here

  • Based on the Benedict Cumberbatch name generator, I’ve been referring to him as Wimbledon Custardbath. Even when he’s dressed like an undertaker he looks good.

    • Anna

I only recently became aware of this phenomenon. I quite enjoy Bouillabaisse Chowderpants.

      • Alyssa

I just had to look it up, and got Blubberwhale Candycrush. Made me giggle!

          • Anna

But it’s good for T Lo Institute productivity, which is what matters the most.

I love this so much, it’s two weeks later, I’m JUST reading this, and I just liked all 367498 of these BCum-name-generated names. So many smiles.

      • Amber J

Bumberstump Cheddarcheese! Bunsenburner Humperdinck! Crumplesack Chickenbroth! Boobytrap Cragglethatch! oh dear. I’m getting nothing done for the rest of the day.

        I got Fragglerock Lingerie!!

        • Anna

Love it. Doesn’t Lady Gaga wear that though?

          • I think it was one of the Marchesa dresses.

    • jw_ny

this is seriously hysterical…he came up as Bendydick Wafflesmack for me. XD

    • Sarah

        • scoobynacks

I got Bendandsnap Kryptonite. Indeed. 😉

      <—— Bendandsnap Moldyspore!

  • Rachel

this man does things to me that I cannot fathom or explain. his alien good looks and overall poshness turn me into a pile of quivering mush….oh, i was supposed to be admiring his ensemble. loving the vest.

  • rebeemoon

Well, MY day started out with an argument with AT&T. But this post sure put a smile on my face. I think I just rebooted.

    • Rand Ortega

Is that what the kids are calling it these days? lol

      • rebeemoon

        Ba-DUM! Hah!

  • AndiMarie

Thank you, Uncles TLo. Thank you.

  • Scimommy

Ah, bless you for this. Such lovely photos. Sausage Friday is off to an EGG(s Benedict)CELLENT start!

  • lunchcoma

    Well isn’t this nice.

He’s gotten a stylist in the last year, hasn’t he?

  • Anna

I’m loving the hair. Looks like it would be fun to run your fingers through and come up with infinite combinations of how to tousle/rearrange it.

Steadfastly claiming that I haven’t fallen to the Cumberbitch darkside yet, but he’s made some strong cases the last few times I’ve seen him.

    • kittentoes

You know, if you’re planning the hair tousling, I think you’ve arrived.

      • Anna

Fair enough, but my heart still belongs to another and I’d gladly body-check Chowderpants out of the way for him.

        • Kristin McNamara

          HA. Chowderpants. I die.

      • majorbedhead

There’s a gif of him tousling his hair. It’s glorious.

        • kittentoes

Oh, he needn’t do that for himself!

    • formerlyAnon

The more interviews I hear with him, the more I weaken, and there was that ONE photoshoot where I TOTALLY GOT IT. But overall, his looks very strangely (because he’s the right body type – it nearly *always* works) lack the magic.

      • Anna

I feel you. You really do need a defining Cumberbatch experience to see for yourself. It took me awhile to finally get around to watching Sherlock, but when I did, I begrudgingly (at first) came around.
Then there was that ONE photoshoot you mention and then I REALLY started getting it. But he still doesn’t get my British actor undying (until I fall for someone else) devotion.

  • MarieLD

    Thank you, uncles.

  • MilaXX

Very nice and well fitted, but feels a bit fancy butler to me.

  • Eclectic Mayhem

Oooh nicely fitted there sir, “Suits you!”

    (you like the lining)

  • embers618

Love the suit, and love the way his complexion looks so much healthier when his hair isn’t Sherlocked up. Don’t get me wrong, I love Sherlock, but that hair color doesn’t always play nicely with his skin tone.

    • Snailstsichr

Though it’s fitting for the character he plays to be somewhat jarring.

      • embers618

I agree, it’s right for the character, but it doesn’t always look right when he has to do IRL appearances with the Sherlock hair.

      • embers618

I agree it’s fitting for the character. The problems come when he shows up for appearances IRL during filming – it doesn’t translate well to the RC.

  • crash1212

  • Sally Spannagle

I honestly would like someone to explain the sex appeal of B Cum to me. Such beady, beady little eyes that man has. I think all he has going for me is that if we got married my last name could be Cumberpatch.

  • Ginger

MEH…the suit’s nice (I do love a well-deployed vest), but he does absolutely nothing for me. My fellow BKs can fight over him.

  • WendyD

    “ev’ry girl crazy ’bout a sharp-dressed man”

He wore the same suit to the Boss fashion show and sat with Anna W. the night before. The lighting at the show made his cheekbones look simply divine.
I will never get enough of him.

  • Danielle

Don’t mind that earth-shattering explosion, it was just my ovaries.

  • Once again, kittens, we need to remind you that the no body-snarking rule applies to male subjects too. it’s fine to say he does nothing for you. It’s not fine to list what you perceive to be his physical flaws.

    • scoobynacks

People think he has flaws? Balderdash Creamsicle. Sorry, accidental posting/name generator overlap.

  • Tatiana Luján

I love how everything fits, I love the hair color and the fact that it doesn’t seem to have a lot of product on.
I wish the tie were a different color (I wish it had some color), but he looks really really good.

  • Sarah

Yes. Oh, yes. Thank you, sweet TLo. This incredible specimen of a man has given me a 13 year old fangirl’s filthy mind in a 35 year old’s body. I’m now regularly oggling Tumblr (for shame.) It’s so, so wrong. And yet so, so right.

    • If you are on pinterest, follow Bonnie Burton. She has done so much of the hard work for you.

      • Sarah

        Ooh, thanks for the tip!

  • Tatiana Luján

I wonder why do they seat people for interviews in such uncomfortable seats.

  • Valentina Finn

I wish I could say something more intellectual than “yum,” but I can’t think of anything. So… YUM.

  • jw_ny

Perfectly fitted vest indeed, and the suit as well. He looks sharp.

  • Jessica Freeman

    He rarely disappoints. Bless.

  • ballerinawithagun

What was he drinking? Looks delicious and limey. I have to wait quite awhile before my Margarita…

  • IMNAngryLiberal

I just don’t get him. I’ve tried and tried to figure out his appeal for other people and I keep coming up blank. To me, he is just kind of ….. funny looking. (And it doesn’t help that I loathe his version of Sherlock Holmes.) That being said, his tailoring is really sharp here.

  • ovarB

I just want to touch his knees as he sits perched on his stool. 😛

    • Claudia

      His knees…? 😉

  • samo_samo

    What a lovely Valentine.

  • jilly_d

I just watched the first three seasons of BBC Sherlock, and SO enjoyed it. And while I still can’t say that BC does much for my nether regions (I’d still pick Martin Freeman), he does look great here. And I love the shorter hair on him.

  • luludexter

    Gotta love that British tailoring!

  • Betsy

He is perfection. I’ve got the feels. See avatar.

  • hillmad

    I love this! “Nuff said.

  • Jacob Bowen

You know, I am by no means a Cumberbitch, but when he talks I instantly become more attracted to him.

    • Betsy

I wish I could cite the source but someone tweeted that The Batch had “the face of an angel and the voice of a porn star.” Purr, Kittens!! Keep purring.

      • WendyD

Except when he voices an actual angel in that BBC Radio production of Neil Gaiman’s ‘Neverwhere’. DIVINE INTERVENTION.

        • snarkykitten

weeeeeellll Islington isn’t the kind of angel you’d want on your shoulder, so hm.

    • nowlo

He has an amazing voice. Google “cumberbatch keats ode to a nightingale” if you want a treat.

    • Kristin McNamara

“Benedict Cumberbatch Reading Things”. Tumblr. Look into it.

      • Jacob Bowen

        Oh my gosh. Thank you.

        • Kristin McNamara

Just sharing the love that another BK shared with me a few months ago 😀

  • Mars Tokyo

I think he looks like an alien from another planet. He has eyes on the sides of his head.

    • julnyes

well no he doesn’t have eyes on the sides of his head, but to each their own.

    • Tina Power

I think that’s because the many men have close and somewhat deepset eyes and his eyes are more feminine. If you look at production stills of his mother from the time she was on U.F.O I think it was, you’ll see that Ben has his mother’s eyes.

    • Mimi

I was thinking the same thing, haha. It’s a nice suit, and I wish I could focus on it, but I can’t get past his face, it’s so… unusual? Oh, and the haircut’s not doing him any favors.

  • ashtangajunkie

He’s so flipping delightful. I just want to listen to him tell stories. And snuggle.

  • marlie

This is darn near perfect. Thank you B Cum and uncles for brightening my day.

  • KinoEye

I wish I could pay him to be my Valentine for the evening. No funny stuff — he could just read me some Ovid or Keats, or even the phone book. He’d dress up nicely, just like this, and make sure my champagne glass was never empty. Would be the best Valentine’s ever.

    • poggi

At this point, a constantly refilled champagne lass would do it for me.

    • Jessica Freeman

You do know he does Cabin Pressure for BBC Radio? Highly recommend. It’s actually quite funny and lots of Benny talking.

  • Shawn EH

Finally somebody for whom the current slender suit silhouette works 100%!

  • boweryboy

Nope. Panties are still on, but that suit is impeccable.

  • Carla_Charlton

The coat IS a little too tight when buttoned, but otherwise, super cute. The fabric looks really nice and the suit and vest look really well-made. And I have to add that I love him.

  • msdamselfly

Never understood his appeal until I started watching Sherlock. Now I find him utterly charming.

    • KinoEye

He’s one of those guys where you have to see him in action to get it. I found the Cumberbitch thing baffling until I watched Sherlock, heard him talk and watched him move. Stills just don’t capture it. The same thing happened for me with Jon Hamm. Of course I thought he was handsome, but I didn’t get the hype until I saw him in Mad Men. Woof.

      • majorbedhead

I keep telling people who question my Cumberbatch love. You have to see him in motion. Otherwise, he *is* a bit odd looking. But once you’ve seen him, then you get it.

    • formerlyAnon

See, Sherlock works against him for me, because I find Rupert Graves sooooo yummy. It’s odd, since he never had much appeal for me till the last five years, but suddenly in middle age I think he’s hot.

It’s like that cast has some kind of reverse-attraction-power.

  • GorgeousThings

Mmmmmmm Bespoke Benedict. You just made my week!

  • Kristin

I have nothing useful or constructive to add to this conversation. I just love him. Adore him. He is perfection. Look at that sweet face. Dammit. *sobs*

  • SFgirlfriend

    Is he a ginger?

    • WendyD

      He’s naturally auburn.

  • colorjunky

why don’t they make these in America?

    • WendyD

      A to the MEN

  • Jean Beaton Leavitt

    The next Bond..James Bond.

  • Akemi

    That is a niiiiiiice suit.

  • Kirstin McAulay

    Nummy goodness

  • Lilyana_F

Weirdest thing – he does nothing for me in photos, but in motion it’s a whole different story.

  • majorbedhead

    *happy little sighs*

Must see if I can find that video anywhere online. I could listen to that man speak all day long.

    • Kristin McNamara

Posted this above too, but: “Benedict Cumberbatch Reading Things”. Tumblr. Look into it.

  • julnyes

That is a well fitted vest, I would love a splash of color somewhere, but overall he looks lovely.

  • SierraDelta

On one of the recent chat shows, he read the lyrics to an R Kelly song. He made it sound like Shakespeare. . .

    • B. Garcia

Did B Cum follow it up by urinating on a teenager a la R Kelly?

      • SierraDelta

The less said about R Kelly the better.

        • B. Garcia

          I’ll follow your lead! 😉

  • quiltrx

So is the suit charcoal, black, or brown? I’m so confused. I wish the tie didn’t blend in quite so much…but I also wish he was waiting at the door for me when I get home with my slippers and some hot tea. But these are quibbles.

  • unbornfawn

  • LaSylphide

As much as I like his Sherlock hair when he’s being Sherlock, this style/color looks much better when he’s being Cumberbatch.

  • podgepodge

I love this look (and him), but someone PLEASE put the man in some color! Just once? He has such interesting/beautiful eyes, and they are not being capitalized on.

    • He’s too quintessentially British to dress anything but that.
