Milly Alcock, we’re not familiar with your game but we think we may love it. The star of Supergirl came to the world premiere in Brazil sporting a look that is defiantly, aggressively, NOT theme-dressing in any way, shape or form.

She’s your punk Supergirl — which, to be fair, is somewhat in line with the version of the character in this particular story. But you have to figure, after the wild success of the campaigns for Barbie and Wicked, that the pressure to show up in cute little red-and-blue outfits with miniskirts must be fairly potent. Even if she isn’t expected to get her Super on for the red carpet, there’s still an expectation that stars of frothy blockbusters like superhero movies are supposed to promote them in bright, pleasant ensembles with an optimistic undertone to them. She looks like she smells like cigarettes. It’s such a flex that we’re duty bound to support it. No, we’re not suggesting that the outfit is pretty or chic, but as a personal statement and public imagecraft, it’s pretty great.
