Your favorite television stars came out in high style for the Gotham TV awards! Actually, that’s a lie! Some of them came out in low style and some of them came out in no style at all! Let’s categorize and judge them!
Aldis Hodge in Dolce & Gabbana

The suit is very sharp and we applaud the deployment of the brooches, but brooches aren’t buttons and trying to use them that way looks a little goofy.
AnnaSophia Robb in Lein

There’s simple and classic and then there’s stale and generic. This isn’t terrible, but it’s so plain and the color does nothing for her. She needs some jewelry.
Brian Tyree Henry

We love it – and we get wanting to show off the chain – but he should’ve kept the jacket buttoned. We’re not convinced on the cuffed hems.
Britt Lower in Louis Vuitton

It’s a sharply interesting dress and the style really suits her, but we wish the color scheme were reversed – black with white piping would be more dramatic with her coloring.
Carrie Coon

A great dress that washes her out a bit.
Chase Sui Wonders in Miu Miu

Such a stupid place to put a cutout.
Cristin Milioti in Dior

Oh, MA’AM. You must have been so dazzled by that Dior label that you forgot to clock how hideous this frock is.
Diego Luna

It’s nice to see him in something more formal than his usual hospital scrubs.
Elisabeth Moss

A decent jacket and a decent dress – but they shouldn’t be worn together.
Erin Doherty in Thom Browne

Oof. Girl, you got Browne’d. We love the man’s aesthetic, but there are instances where it’s just “Take basic items and fuck them up a little.” This just looks dumb.
Jenny Slate in Thom Browne

Everything about this is too precious for her, down to those annoying mismatched sandals.
Leslie Bibb in Stella McCartney

LOLWHUT. We almost had ourselves convinced that a few minor edits – a darker green, a less accentuated shoulder – could make this work, but then we got down to those clown shoes and realized there’s no saving this. We question the faculties of anyone who would go out wearing this combination of items.
Madeline Brewer in Atlein

This is hot. The draping is beautiful and the color looks great on her.
Mark Duplass

For god’s sake, button your jacket.
Matt Rogers

Looks pretty amazing.
Olivia Williams

Very grande dame, which seems to be a trend at the moment. The color looks great on her and we love the silver pump.
Parker Posey in Valentino

WAY too Stepford Wife in tone and style. We could possibly get behind the design without the ruffle at the hem or those silly gloves. Even then, we don’t love the color for her and the neckline is awkward.
Rachel Brosnahan in Dior

We wanted to say that this is cute and sassy but looks terribly annoying to wear except that, upon further consideration, we came to the conclusion that it isn’t even cute or sassy. Just a weird, stiff, unflattering dress.
Ramy Youssef

We have to believe that the “I’m wearing my daddy’s suit” fit is deliberate because you just don’t mistakenly dress that way. If so, it’s a horrible affectation. If not, he needs to get himself a stylist.
Renée Zellweger

Generic.
Sam Nivola

Love this, although we question whether the shirt really works with it.
Sheryl Lee Ralph in Rachel Gilbert

Can’t go wrong with all of that.
Yvonne Strahovski

Pure fabulous. Not one wrong detail.
