It’s as straightforward a podcast as last week, darlings; a veritable T Lo Holiday Movie Marathon as we unpack and discuss the various ways the following films chose to portray the stories of real people:
Maestro, Bradley Cooper’s dripping-with-prestige biopic of Leonard Bernstein, Priscilla, Sophia Coppola’s dream-like look into the mind of Priscilla Presley, and Todd Haynes’ May December, a fictionalized account of Mary Kay LeTourneau. We go into how each of these films chose very different ways of portraying the realities of their subject matter; what worked and what didn’t, and whether truthfulness or details even matter when telling these stories.
All that and a little bit of baking talk too. Thank you for listening, kittens!
