Since we opted at the last second not to put Janelle Monae’s nipple-freeing moment up to a vote, The Fabelmans star Michelle Williams gets to enter the judging circle. We’ve been a little hard on her style choices of late, largely because they feel ill-suited to her and a little awkward, as if she’s looking for something in her style that she hasn’t quite nailed yet.
It’s hard to be critical about a glittering gold gown during awards season, but we’re pretty sure we’re up to the task. The textile is gorgeous, but the seaming makes it appear really heavy. We don’t love the raw edges or the way the skirt marries to the bodice and we’re not convinced that gorgeous necklace coordinates all that well with the neckline. But our opinions don’t matter on this one. Yours do. Let’s hear them.
