It’s kind of hilarious that Angelina Jolie, who is easily one of the blandest dressers any red carpet ever saw, is starring in a film titled Couture.

There will be no theme-dressing for this gal. They should’ve called the movie Off The Rack. To be fair, haute couture is more than capable of producing blandly generic “classic” pieces like these. And to be even more fair, this isn’t a film about fashion specifically. Even so, there’s going to be a certain grim humor watching her stand in front of posters and backdrops with the film’s title while she sports the most forgettable outfits possible. Also: an overcoat over a strapless gown is a really weird choice.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
In Paris, amidst the hustle and bustle of Fashion Week, Maxine, an American filmmaker, receives news that will change her life forever. She then crosses paths with Ada, a young South Sudanese model who has left her country, and Angèle, a French makeup artist yearning for a different life. Between these three women, despite their vastly different backgrounds, an unexpected solidarity develops. Beneath the glamorous veneer, a form of silent rebellion emerges: that of women who, each in their own way, are mending the threads of their own stories.
