Last year’s Best Actress winner, Anora star Mikey Madison came back to the Oscars to wear one fantastic dress, hand out a trophy, and then follow it up with one of the worst dresses… in the history of dresses, maybe?

Absolutely gorgeous. Rich, sexy, luxe … it checks off all her style boxes. Considering it’s ruched velvet with appliques, it’s impressive how well it drapes and how it never looks bulky or overwhelming. We feel weird saying this, but we think it needed a pair of sheer tights. It’s funny how these things go — five years ago we wouldn’t have said this, but today, after a year or so of them trending back in style, her bare leg with such a heavy dress looks odd to us. Totally not a dealbreaker, though. The only part we don’t like are those beaded “straps” which are totally unnecessary. After the ceremony, she did a quick change and headed off to the Vanity Fair party:

… where she horrified everyone with her poor taste. We’ve been railing against their various iterations for decades, but we think we may have found the very worst example of the “My dress is falling off me” dress.
