A bunch of Brit and Brit-adjacent stars came out to serve looks at BAFTA’s Invest in Talent Gala. We don’t know what that is either, but we have outfits to discuss so let’s get to it.

His crooked tie is hilarious. Her dress is surprisingly lovely, given that it’s a mass of gray. Can’t say we’re in love with the puffy bust, though.
Elizabeth McGovern

It looks like she grabbed random items, threw them on, ran a slash of lipstick across her face, and ran out the door. What we’re trying to say here is that this is not good and none of the pieces go together. Also, she should avoid pale yellow.
Gwendoline Christie

This is so big, butch and fabulous. The unusual color story and those insane shoulder pads are what make the look. It just looks somewhat unusually sloppy.
Jason Isaacs

Perfectly fine, if not terribly photogenic.
Joanne Froggatt in Sportmax

We tend not to love these half-sheer skirts, which we predict are about to become a thing. This one, however, is rather elegantly executed. The somewhat minimal design helps keep it looking chic.
Russell Tovey

What a bizarre pose. Keep both hands in your pockets if you’re that tense, Russell. Love the tie.
Sheila Atim

Pure stunning. The gold parts of the design make the look.
