One Battle After Another star Teyana Taylor came to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival to remind you all that she is still campaigning for that Oscar and she is still gonna slay every time she does it.

We’ll be honest: this isn’t our favorite look of hers because we’re bored by deconstructed or degraded fashion and we think that wet effect can get a little tacky if not overwhelming. But she has more than a knack at working difficult pieces, so she doesn’t look remotely overwhelmed by it. We like that the shape and style is deceptively demure and old-fashioned. We also like that the sheer effect is modest and well considered — not that it would have been scandalous if she’d gone for a more revealing style, but visible panties would not have improved this look. And finally, we tend to hate sleeve lengths or fussy cuffs that obscure the hands like that. She seems to be having a lot of fun with it and it’s not like she’ll be doing any typing or vegetable chopping during the night. We may have some quibbles with this, but the overall effect is eye-catching and hard to miss.
