Laura Dern has been hitting the streets on the press junket for Is This Thing On? and the looks have been… inconsistent, to say the least. We will, of course, not be saying the least.
IN LORO PIANA AT THE LIVE WITH KELLY AND MARK STUDIOS
While we’d like to commend her on her gorgeous coat, the fact remains that the outfit underneath is the real style story:
That is a lot for a morning talk show, and we don’t think most people could make it work for them, but she does really well with vaguely boho styles and the starkly graphic quality of the white embroidery really helps her pop onscreen. We’d rate this as one of the best things we’ve seen her wear in a while. Unfortunately, her streak of picking awkward pieces has not entirely ended:
ON THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON
The length of those pants is absolutely Satanic. A pants hem hitting at exactly the widest part of the calf flatters absolutely no one. It doesn’t help that the suit looks so flimsy and wrinkled on her, or that the color story is so drab. If nothing else, the lady has range, because we can’t think of a star who’d wear both of these outfits within days of each other.
