A bunch of celebrity ladies headed to the Sézane boutique in New York for an “intimate celebration” hosted by founder Morgane Sézalory to make the 8th anniversary of DEMAIN, Sézalory’s philanthropic program, and its ongoing partnership with Libraries Without Borders. That’s all great, but we’re here to rate the outfits. Apparently, no one was allowed to wear any color.

These store parties are always kind of funny because they never consider what the pictures are going to look like without some sort of step-and-repeat backdrop to rely on. Subsequently, the pictures are always distractingly bus and poorly lit, which means almost no one comes out looking all that great. Taking all of that into account… this is still a hideous outfit.
Leslie Bibb

This is fine, but the top should be lined.
Molly Gordon

It’s fine. A little low-key and unphotogenic, though. The point to a party like this one is one hundred percent publicity (putting aside the philanthropy that inspires it), so it’s not really correct to say that this “isn’t a fashion event.” You invite celebrities to your boutique party because you want them to promote it. This isn’t really up to the task.
Nicole Ari Parker

This really could’ve used some color and a belt, but we’re surprised by how much we like it. That lace collar should be a dealbreaker, but the glasses really give the look some oomph.
Nicole Brydon Bloom

These are pretty cute pieces, but that’s a whole lot of gray.
Sarita Choudhury

She looks like she’s trying to escape the photographer. Love the pieces, but we don’t love the mismatched blacks.
