Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman hit the red carpet at the London premiere of Song Sung Blue, sticking closely to the style plan they’ve adopted for this promo tour: she spends hours getting ready and he spends about 15 minutes.

It was ever thus, although this is one of the more egregious examples of it we’ve seen lately. He’s barely managing anything with a button on this tour.

It’s Zegna, so we know it’s of the highest quality, but why would you go for “off duty priest” as your style guide when you have such options at your fingertips?

This is just about as pretty as a blue lace gown can possibly be. Yes, that’s a little backhanded of us, but that’s because we hate blue lace and we don’t think there are more than a half dozen examples in our fashion bitchenating careers that we actually liked. We can add this one to the list, partially because it’s a lovely shade of blue (so many blue laces are of the eye-searing shade) and it’s lined. We’d have liked a full lining instead of this “wear a tiny cocktail dress under a gown” version, but considering just how many panties and bras we’ve been subjected to on the red carpet in the last month alone, we’ll take it.
