We regret to inform you of two things. The first is that Wicked: For Good star Ariana Grande is continuing to Glinda her style (“Glinda” is a verb now), going by her archival Dior gown at the Governor’s Awards. The second is that she appears to be getting a handle on how to Glinda her style more effectively.
This is gorgeous, dammit. It gets harder to rail against theme-dressing when someone manages to do it well. The reason it works is that there’s no cosplay factor here. This doesn’t actually look like one of her character’s costumes. It’s just a classically chic dress in that Audrey mode she’s so vehemently working at the moment. Our only quibble is that the pink doesn’t actually suit her coloring. She does better with more vivid shades.
