Oh, Alexander Skarsgård, how you vex us. And not just because of the typographical challenges provided by your name. Here we have a star with just about as classic a leading man look as you’re likely to find in this time, who also has an energetic approach to promotional style and is willing to take risks on the red carpet. All of this should set T Lo atingle. The problem is that he mostly dresses in stunt outfits, sometimes hitting the red carpet pantsless, other times in a dog collar. It feels gimmicky rather than stylish, which is vexing to us. As the star of Pillion, the upcoming queer kink movie, his choices for the promotional tour seemed rather obvious to us and we settled in for a succession of leather-themed looks which we figured would get boring sooner rather than later. Instead, he showed up to the Zurich Film Festival premiere covered in dildos.

To be fair, there’s also a bong and probably some poppers… a veritable nightstand of options for a night of debauchery. We are a bit afraid to ask about the toilet paper and bleach, but the important thing here is that he’s starting a conversation. Haha, no. It’s stunt-dressing to the extreme. It’s gimmicky as hell. But it’s not cosplay, and we appreciate it for that. It’s also a decent look all over. There’s a point at which this kind of thing feels a bit like queer-baiting, even with years of allusions on his part to not being entirely straight. We guess it comes down to this: he wouldn’t wear this shirt to promote his heterosexual rom com or Marvel movie. Not that we’re offended, just that we’re keeping an eye on him.
