The Smashing Machine stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt finally get their act together in time for the LA premiere.
That’s maybe a little harsh (Who? Us?) because Mr. Rock’s been mostly killing it on this tour. It’s Ms. Blunt who’s been floundering of late. Y’know, given the title of this film, the posters should really just have ROCK and BLUNT in the largest fonts possible.
We’re not feeling the blue footwear, and we think the sash is both too long and poorly secured (we don’t expect a bow, but surely a stylist can manage something more interesting than a bathrobe knot), but this is a gorgeously stylish and sexy look. If not wearing shirts is an essential component of your public style, then it just makes good sense to turn dressing gowns into formalwear.
This all appears to be very much in order. We don’t love suggesting that stars just go for the simplest, most basic glam styles they can secure, just because it tends to start coming off like a uniform instead of an expression of style, but to be quite (pun intended) blunt, when she tries to get creative with her style choices, it tends to go wrong for her. This isn’t winning any design awards nor will it wind up any year-end lists, but she looks legitimately great and yeah, maybe just stick with the basics for a little while, Emily. In order to earn our bitchdollars, we’ll end by noting that we don’t like the earrings.
