Anne Hathaway was spotted at the Piazza Duomo in Milan while filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 in yet another inappropriate-for-sunlight ensemble.
It’s kind of a gorgeous look — or at least, it’s a look with a lot of gorgeous pieces. Like so much of the costume design that we’re seeing in this film, it just looks like too much. We’ve said this before but it bears some repeating: the top fashion editors, when they’re out doing fashiony sorts of things, do not wear trendy or attention-seeking fashion 99% of the time. It’s all classic pieces and the vibe tends to be more businesslike than hit-the-club. To be fair, we have no idea what Andy is doing in this film, but the original had a “freeing herself from the horrible world of fashion” ending (which we had all sorts of problems with), so it feels like a step backwards for the character that she’s back in this world again. To be fair, that’s true of all sequels. We’re just a bit concerned that this one is going to fall into the And Just Like That… trap of turning all of the characters into two-dimensional drag queens.
