William H. Macy, Kerry Condon and Joel Edgerton all came to the AFI Fest premiere of Train Dreams in their Clinical Depression-wear.

Try harder, William. It’s not a bad jacket at all. In fact, we can’t point to any item and say “This is wrong,” but the overall effect is do dreary and plain that it doesn’t seem worth the effort of putting on a belt and shoes. If you’re gonna show up and be photographed, may as well try to wear something a little photogenic.

It’s not a bad dress, but it’s in serious need of some aggressive styling. A brooch, a shoe with a little sparkle, a cocktail ring, visible earrings — ANYTHING would be an improvement.

Again, what’s the point in wearing nice pieces if they’re all going to come off so drab and unphotogenic? We can tell the sweater, pants and shoes are all of fine quality, but you really have to peer at them to get that.
