Sydney Sweeney came to the AFI Fest premiere of Christy sporting a new bob and the same old sexy-femme style she’s been trying to perfect of late.

Like all of her style choices, it’s very booby, but it also has that sort of self-conciously precious sweetness that she’s trying to cultivate. With the lace overlay, the dress tends to come across a little bridal, but it’s not a dealbreaker. As far as lace dresses on red carpets (a think we tend to hate) go, this one’s not bad. The fit in the bodice is impressive but they probably should have left her a little more room to breathe. The pale pink suits her well. The only design quibbles we have is with the lace edges on the bustline and the belt, which is entirely unnecessary. This is definitely one of her better efforts. We’re not liking the bob for her at all.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
Christy Martin (Sydney Sweeney) never imagined life beyond her small-town roots in West Virginia—until she discovered a knack for punching people. Fueled by grit, raw determination, and an unshakable desire to win, she charges into the world of boxing under the guidance of her trainer and manager-turned-husband, Jim (Ben Foster).
But while Christy flaunts a fiery persona in the ring, her toughest battles unfold outside it—confronting family, identity, and a relationship that just might become life-or-death. Based on remarkable true events, Christy Martin’s story is one of resilience, courage, and the fight to reclaim one’s life.
