Why Miss Seyfried, you’re lovely. The star of The Testament of Ann Lee came to the TIFF premiere in a look that practically screams “PRESTIGE ACTRESS COMING THROUGH,” but we’re not convinced it suits her.

We admit to being a bit surprised to see her in something so demurely retro in style. Personally, we don’t think the style suits her all that well, but it is a pretty dress. Quibbles: it’s too tight in the bust, the shoe choice does nothing for it (we honestly think the dreaded pop-of-color shoe would be better here), and the necklace, while gorgeous, is wrong for it. A dress like this calls for more delicate jewelry, not showpieces. That’s our take. Let’s hear yours.
