Style File: Queen Máxima of the Netherlands in Natan Couture

Queen Max is out once again in a string of unfortunate style decisions. Let’s assess!

She has a knack for picking out great skirts, but we’re afraid that’s the extent of her good style instincts, as far as we can see. The orange accessories were a good choice, but that top is so awful that we have a hard time understanding how it got out of the palace. The color is bad for her and photographs terribly, the textile is flimsy and cheap-looking, and it clearly wrinkles easily, all of which makes it the worst sort of choice. We like that she wore her hair up, but that’s a goofy-looking hat.

This is a much better look. She should stick to bright, bold colors as much as possible. She should also consider dresses over separates, because the more options she tends to have, the higher the likelihood that one of them will be way off (see previous entry). In this case, the hat remains terrible and a brightly colored pair of pumps would’ve been much better.
