Die My Love star Jennifer Lawrence received the Donostia Award at the San Sebastian International Film Festivel, which recognizes outstanding contributions to the film world. She followed up her “sporty nun” look for the festival photo call with a “sexy monk” one for the ceremony:
Evidently, she’s on some sort of monastic kick at the moment. It might seem strange to classify a gown with a side cutout and a slit to the hip as “modest,” but that’s the vibe we’re getting from her latest style choices. This is, of course, a perfectly understandable style direction for an actress who’s been in the industry a while and while we can’t say either of her latest attempts are to our tastes, we do think this one is at least a little interesting in its severity and starkness. The textile, which looks like suiting to our eyes, has a lovely drape and the various pleats and tucks give it a shape and visual interest it would otherwise lack. To our eyes, this avoids coming off like a dreary sack, but we’d have liked it a bit more if it didn’t look several sizes too large on her.
