The stars came out for the premiere of Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere at the New York Film Festival where the men were all threatened with arrest if they wore any colors.

It’s fine. We suppose we could consider this a form of theme-dressing, since the leather sports coat looks like something Bruce would wear. In truth, this is all him. He goes for the least interesting items available to him most of the time. The leather is actually a bold and shocking choice given his preference for blandness.

This, on the other hand, strikes us as perhaps a bit much for the setting. It’s a gorgeous gown, but that fringe is making us antsy just looking at it. The problem with a gown like this is that it resists styling. You really can’t pile on any jewelry and if you go too aggressive with the hair and makeup, you’re going to tip over into tacky. The only way to style it is in the most boring and minimal manner possible. To that end, her makeup is gorgeous.

We don’t love the shininess or the color of the textile and if we’re being honest, we hate the style for a red carpet setting, but the dress actually suits her. The earrings are really well chosen. We’d like the shoes more if they were black.

Surprising dull, given his normal preferences.

Perfectly fine.
