Everyone in the cast of A House of Dynamite got the memo: Don’t you dare wear any colors to the New York Film Festival premiere. Jonah Hauer-King is not included in the group text evidently.
Idris Elba (and Isan Elba)

He’s in a suit, which we consider a win. It’s not very interesting, but he looks fine.
Carrie Coon

Oof. She loves these pale, frilly styles and they represent just about the worst possible choice for her. This is like Christina Hendricks and her inexplicable love of steampunk romantic styles. Girl, it’s never gonna love you back. Also, this outfit is just kind of ugly.
Greta Lee in The Row

We hate apron style bodices and tend to find most little black dresses too boring for red carpets, but she looks lovely.
Jason Clarke

You couldn’t comb your hair? Put a little product in it? Maybe get some bronzer on that mug so you don’t wind up giving moon face under flash conditions? We’re just saying. We get that you’re a thespian and all, but if you’ve gone to the trouble of putting on a decent suit, why leave the details unfinished?
Moses Ingram

On the one hand, we think that’s way too much gray for a red carpet. On the other hand, the beat is gorgeous and the coat lends the whole look some serious drama. We’re all for coats on the red carpet, but we can practically guarantee this minor trend of late will evaporate completely by February.
Renée Elise Goldsberry and Anthony Ramos

We figure it’s a law that any time Hamilton OG cast members are on a red carpet at the same time, they have to pose together. We loathe the monochromatic suit trend and we’re not fans of three-button jackets, but he looks pretty good.

We’re homosexual men who are rarely directly faced with such things but that bust totally looks like a maxi-pad, right? It’s not a bad look overall, but tricky bust designs are rarely a good idea.
Jonah Hauer-King in Giorgio Armani

We return to Lorenzo’s observation that wearing leather jackets with ties is always going to look a little “mob enforcer.” The jacket is honestly kind of ugly and overwhelming. It doesn’t coordinate well with the other pieces.
Rebecca Ferguson

She’s the kind of gal who can make wearing fifty pounds of leather look breezy and effortless, which is probably why she goes out wearing fifty pounds of leather so often. The dress is dramatic but it’s also not the freshest look in the world. The clean styling is a really smart way to make it look chic and modern.
