Neither Fantastic Fest nor the premiere of The Strangers: Chapter 2 calls for high-end luxury fashion or prestige actress styles. Nevertheless, Madelaine Petsch still managed to let us down, even with our expectations somewhere down by the baseboard.

Okay, so that’s kind of ugly, but it’s ugly in a Halloweeny sort of way, which makes it somewhat appropriate. This might have worked with some better styling and a few changes. In fact, we’re just gonna be lazy about it and note that if she’d worn the look book version, with the black panel in the center and pair of sheer black tights, this would all be perfectly fine. But we suspect she really wanted to go for that “you can see my underwear” effect and so she stripped out the parts that detract from it.
