Hello, 1991! It’s certainly been long enough for this entire look to swing back onto the trend lists for 2025, but it’s asking a lot of us. To be fair, our only issue here is with our usual bugaboo: black-backed florals. They always skew too harsh to our eyes. This one looks particularly chintzy to us, but we have to admit, it’s a high-impact, highly photogenic look that suits her. We don’t really have any critiques here. It’s well styled. We want to say “The problem is that it’s thirty years out of style,” but given the circular nature of fashion, “thirty years out of style” just means “in style.”

We’re tired of sheer skirts. But since our main complaint about them is how boring they all are, if someone wants to devise a type we’ve never seen before, we feel we have to give it at least a little consideration. It’s different. Still seems kind of dumb to us because you’re only exposing your knees and upper thighs, which is a strange place to ask the eye to go. We really like the jacket, though.
