The stars came out in high style for the first televised Las Culturistas Culture Awards, hosted by Las Culturistas themselves, Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers. It says something about the boys’ cultural reach and reputation that so many big stars showed up and that most of them put serious effort into their looks for the night.
Aidy Bryant
She loves these super-twee juvenile styles, but this one isn’t too bad, largely because it’s black.
Alison Brie in Rabanne
Well, damn. Who can argue with any of that?
Allison Janney in Christian Siriano
Lady, we love you, but you should’ve slapped Christian.
Ana Gasteyer
We can certainly understand wanting to go for comfort, but there are so many caftans out there that are far more fabulous than this paramecium-looking frock.
Ben Platt
He always slightly overdoes it. The suit is shiny, the buttons are too distracting, and neither the vest nor the flare of the pants are doing him any favors. It all looks so fussy and ill-suited to him.
Benito Skinner
We love the jacket, but it looks way too big on him. The tie’s weird.
Bowen Yang in Valentino
He can definitely work those ruffles, but we’re not convinced they work well with a conventional double-breasted suit. The color looks fantastic on him. The footwear is extremely weird, but we kind of like it.
D’Arcy Carden
The dress is okay but we loathe the straps/cap sleeves. Also, her hair looks strange.
Dave Franco
This looks great, but we wouldn’t have recommended black shoes.
Dylan Efron
He’s making it work through the power of cuteness, but we hate that cropped jacket.
Jamie Lee Curtis
Why Miss Jamie. This is the best thing we’ve seen you wear all month, and you’ve been doing nothing but hitting photo calls and red carpets this month.
Joel Kim Booster in David Koma
We like it more than we expected to. In fact, our only issue is with the white dress socks.
Kenan Thompson
Perfect summer style, although we hate the kicks.
Kristen Wiig
It looks like a dance leotard with a giant shower puff attached to it.
Lisa Rinna in Schiaparelli
We give her credit for wearing something unusual and high fashion, but this is ultimately just a wildly overworked garment in a color that doesn’t flatter her. The bodice is genuinely interesting, but it all goes south with the skirt design.
Matt Rogers
We may like this version more than Joel Kim Booster’s but we hate the bowling shoes.
Meg Stalter
Of course she did.
Mindy Kaling in Khoon Hooi
It’s a cute design, but it feels extremely stale.
Quinta Brunson in Temperley London
The butterfly bodice is interesting, but we hate the fringe and we’re about to declare a ten-year fashion moratorium on pink satin.
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Kept it simple, looks great.
Sasha Colby
It’s pretty, but it looks kind of cheap and we don’t like the hair accessory at all.
