The stars of Freakier Friday came out for the London premiere in surprisingly high style. Let’s assess, shall we?

Personally, we don’t think a three-piece suit is needed either for a Freakier Friday premiere or for this time of year, but we’re not idiots here. The man looks absolutely delicious.

Our first thought was that Burberry should sue. Our second thought is that she’s sixteen and if you can’t make the kind of fashion mistakes at that age that’ll have you cringing at thirty, what’s the point of being sixteen? The shape of that top is too silly for words, but the whole outfit would be vastly improved by removing all of that ugly leather trim.

“Slighly goofy bust designs” is something of a theme for this crowd, it would seem. We could’ve done without that part, but the rest of the gown looks fantastic on her, although we continue to maintain that pastels aren’t a great idea for her. We get that the bag is a nod to her character (as is the dress), but this gets right to the heart of our issue with theme-dressing: it doesn’t go with the dress at all. As promotion, it might be considered savvy, but from a fashion perspective, it’s just poor accessorizing. Your bag shouldn’t be the first and only thing people remember about your look.

This is fantastic. We just wish the hem went down further.

It’s fine, but the print looks a little cheap and cheesy to us. We tend to think that all of his style choices would work better if he didn’t have that overly blow-dried, Siegfried-and-Roy-looking coif. It’s aging him because he comes off like a much older man trying to hold onto his youth.

As a design, this feels pretty unresolved. You can do a pink sequined cheongsam if you want to, but you have to follow through on it. It feels like they just slapped a few frog closures on it and called it good. A shame, because with a sleeker silhouette and longer hem, this could have been very pretty.
