After we mentioned that Peacemaker star Danielle Brooks has a preference for bold and bright colors, she apparently course-corrected (not that she had to) and went in a dark and sparkly direction for the season 2 premiere. Fortunately, she takes just as well to dark-and-sparkly as she does to bold-and-bright.
It’s an unexpected set of choices and for the most part, we really like it, but as soon as we saw the look book shots (below), our opinion cooled slightly. While we love the idea of the corset with a pair of wide-legged pants, it really does look amazing with a pair of jeans. We also think the alteration in the bust should have utilized black instead of white. That panel just doesn’t make sense to us. Still, it’s a fun, bold look and it’s really well styled. Love the jewelry choices and the bright blue mani.
