Anne Hathaway was “spotted” shooting highly demonstrative scenes in an extremely eye-catching dress with her co-star Patrick Brammal on location in New York shooting The Devil Wears Prada 2. We put “spotted” in scare quotes because every single thing about this scenario looks deliberately devised to get the exact amount of press attention it’s getting.
There’s been some grumbling lately about how posts like these are bad because they give away too much of the movie or something. It may not surprise you that, as a publisher of these kinds of posts, we find that argument a little silly. The only people seeing these pictures right now are people who are likely to read a gay celebrity fashion site and who clicked on this post, knowing full well what it contained. In other words, anyone viewing these shots has made the decision to do so — and we thank them for it. We question whether this is truly a scene from the movie because first, productions have been known to shoot fake scenes in public and second, because this all feels so showy and spoilery. Anyway, the dress is a stunner and we always felt Patrick had leading man status. They look cute together. He’s certainly a huge improvement over Adrian Grenier.
