Red Carpet Rundown: WEDNESDAY Season Two London Premiere

Of course we had to give the leading lady herself a little time in the spotlight (especially since she wore such a fabulously disgusting dress), but a whole bunch of stars and castmates besides Jenna Ortega came to the second season premiere of Wednesday and it’s time to line them all up and tell them what we think of their gothy attempts.

This might be the least overwrought design we’ve ever seen her wear in public. She tends toward much fussier fare than this, but she should try this sort of dark minimalism a little more because this looks great.

As with Jenna Ortega and Wednesday, she must have to work really hard to thread that needle of promoting your work as Morticia without actually dressing like Morticia. This is fine. We’re not used to seeing her in an up do, but it looks great on her.

LOVE the dress, but the bare legs and sandals look odd with it. Textured hose and booties would have been the way to go.

We imagine that this looked quite pretty in person but it looks like nothing at all in pictures.

Acceptable.

You simply couldn’t find a better look for promoting an Addams Family-based series. He looks pretty amazing. There’s probably a little bit too much going on with the look (could’ve done without the split sleeves and pants), but a little maximalism suits him.

The cape is lovely, but the other pieces are a little too low key. At the very least, a belt would have been nice.

He’s literally Chewbacca, so we won’t get too huffy about his shirt sleeves being too short. At nearly seven feet tall, he’s allowed a little grace. The jacket’s nice, but we won’t sign off on those shitty shoes.

LOVE. See what we mean about the patterned hose and boots? That’s how you make it gothy without being cliched about it. Having said that, it’s insane to be wearing such a heavy sweater dress in July.

Love the coat.

Since this is more of a deconstructed take on formal wear (which suits him), we won’t get pissy about the puddling pants this time.

It’s a cute and sassy look, but the tailoring is horrible. The jacket is too short and the hem job on those pants should get someone fired.
