“Sofia Coppola to be Artistic Director of the Bal d’Été at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris July 6, 2025
On the occasion of the centenary of the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts, the internationally renowned American filmmaker Sofia Coppola will revive the tradition of the great Parisian balls at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
The museum has entrusted her with the artistic direction of this unique event. A tribute to French elegance and art de vivre, this Bal d’Été will kick off the Paris Haute Couture week by combining fashion, art and design.”

It’s giving floaty, ethereal Cthulhu. The design is almost pretty, but it’s wildly overdone and in desperate need of editing.
Keira Knightley (in Chanel) and James Righton
She’s got a real knack for finding and picking the most boring Chanel designs you could ever imagine. To be fair, given how bad the house’s output has been of late, we can’t blame her for going dull. This is… just okay, but the thought of a tweed gown is kind of dumb.
Kirsten Dunst (in Chanel Couture) and Jesse Plemons
Never looked hotter. Her dress is great, but his hair is spectacular.
Marisa Berenson in Armani Privé
We’re all for a comfortable, slouchy fit, but the shape of that jacket makes it seem like it’s sliding off her. Can’t say we’re loving the print all that much either.
Penélope Cruz in Chanel Couture
All of the design elements here feel randomly applied. The bodice and the skirt have nothing to do with each other except they’re rendered in the same fabric. The belt looks awful with it.
